The Generational Thinker, Politician, Author and Speaker, a personality who believes in the optimization of the human potential for societal transformation Mr. Fifi Fiave Kwatey has explained the “Do-or-Die” comment/statement made by former President John Dramani Mahama.
The former Ketu South Lawmaker in his statement has defended and lauded John Dramani Mahama for his harmless comments against the bad governance of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
While recounting practical scenes in the past to support the meaning of the “Do or Die” statement, he said what happened in the strongroom of the Electoral Commission (EC) in 2008 which compelled Dr. Afari Djan, the former Electoral Commissioner to rush in to stop the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) desperate attempt to steal the 2008 elections, was the Spirit of “Do or Die”
According to him, taking that spirit from the strongroom to each polling station to enable the triumph of Truth and Democracy is not asking for anything extraordinary.
“We have done it before and we will do it again. Only Thieves, Crooks and Criminals fear the determination to stop wanton thievery.” Fifi Fiave Kwetey said.
On Tuesday, 7th September, 2021, former President John Dramani Mahama while addressing the people of Techiman in a radio interview said, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has learnt its lessons from the 2020 elections and will ensure that, the right things are done during the general elections.
According to him, the 2024 elections will be won or lost at the polling station. It will be do-or-die at the polling stations. He believes that, the right thing must be done during the polls. “We will win the elections at the polling station and won’t wait for collation centre results nor petition the Supreme Court if aggrieved,” Former President John Dramani Mahama has said.
These statements, according to the former Member of Parliament for Ketu South Mr. Fifi Fiave Kwatey is apt as the Electoral Commission and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government conspired and rigged the December 2020 Presidential Elections in favor of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
