2022/2023 Academic Calendar for University of Ghana
University of Ghana, Legon has published its academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic year. The calendar has both the activities and schedules for the two (2) semesters. Also, it covers all four (4) levels; 100, 200, 300 & 400 students.
According to the academic calendar, First Semester and Second Semester have eleven (11) weeks and ten (10) weeks for teaching respectively.
2022/2023 ACADEMIC YEAR (1ST SEMESTER)
The first semester has eleven (11) weeks for teaching.
1ST SEMESTER ACTIVITIES & SCHEDULES
1. Deadline for Uploading Courses and Linking of First Semester Courses to Lecturers (All First Semester Courses, All Levels) has been scheduled to take place on Friday, November 4, 2022
2. Registration begins has been slated for Monday, December 19, 2022.
3. Level 100 Students will report to campus from Wednesday, January 4 to Sunday, January 8, 2023.
4. Level 100 Students Orientation – Monday, January 9- Thursday, January 12, 2023.
5. Congregation for 2021/2022 Academic Year – Tuesday, 10th January 2023 to Saturday, 14th January 2023.
6. Continuing Students Report – Thursday, January 12 – Sunday, January 15, 2023.
7. Teaching Begins – Monday, January 16, 2023.
8. Deadline for Registration/ Add/Drop of Courses – Friday, February 10, 2023.
9. Matriculation – Saturday, February 11, 2023.
10. Registration for Re-sit of First Semester Courses – Monday, February 13- Friday, February 17, 2023.
11. Interim Assessment – Monday, February 20-Friday, March 4, 2023.
12. Registration for Supplementary Re-sit Exams for Second Semester Courses – Monday, February 20-Friday, February 24, 2023.
13. Matriculation (Distance Education Students) – Date to be determined**
14. Academic Prizes Ceremony – April 2023-Date to be determined**
15. Aggrey-Fraser-Guggisberg Memorial Lectures – Date to be determined**
16. Students’ Evaluation of Lecturers – Monday, March 27-Friday, April 7, 2023.
17. Teaching Ends – Friday, March 31, 2023.
18. Revision – Monday, April 3-Friday, April 7, 2023.
19. First Semester Examinations – Saturday, April 8, 2023-Sunday, April 23, 2023 (two weeks).
20. Supplementary Re-Sit Examinations for Second Semester courses – Monday, April 24, 2023-Friday, May 5, 2023.
21. Inter-Semester Break – Monday, April 24, 2023- Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
TAKE NOTE: School of Law, Medical School; Dental School; School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences; School of Veterinary Medicine; School of Nursing and Midwifery; School of Pharmacy may have different dates because their semesters extend beyond the normal calendar.
Their calendars can be obtained from the respective Schools.

7. Registration for Supplementary Re-sit Exams for First Semester Courses – Monday, June 5- Friday, June 9, 2023
8. Interim Assessment – Monday, June 12-Friday, June 23, 2023.
9. Congregation: College of Humanities (School of Law) – July 2023-Date to be Determined**
10. Students’ Evaluation of Lecturers – Monday, July 17-Friday, July 28, 2023.
11. Teaching Ends – Friday, July 21, 2023.
12. Revision – Monday, July 24-Friday, July 28, 2023.
13. Second Semester Examinations has been slated for two (2) week. It will start from Saturday, 29th July 2023 to Sunday 13th August 2023.
14. Supplementary Re-Sit Examinations for First Semester courses – From Monday, August 14 2023 to Sunday, August 25, 2023.
15. Second Semester will end on Sunday, August 13, 2023.
16. Vacation will last for two (2) weeks starting from Monday, August 14, 2023, to September 17, 2023.
