2024 BECE Registration Date and Examination Guidelines

BECE Candidates/Students
As we enter the realm of academic challenges that 2024 brings, it is crucial for students, parents, and schools to familiarize themselves with the registration dates and guidelines specific to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The 2024 BECE is scheduled to take place in July, with the registration process commencing in March of the same year. This grants schools and aspiring candidates a window of opportunity to prepare for this upcoming academic endeavor. However, it is important to note that the BECE registration portals will close in April 2024.
In order to ensure fairness and maintain the integrity of the BECE, schools are strongly advised to strictly adhere to the examination regulations.

Engaging in activities such as soliciting students or advertising the BECE is explicitly prohibited. Upholding ethical conduct throughout the registration process is vital to preserving the sanctity of the examination.
To safeguard the credibility of the BECE, schools are urged to register only eligible students who are in their final year, supported by comprehensive continuous assessment records.
Transferred students must provide evidence of their continuous assessment records. Registering non-final year or non-bona fide students is a direct violation of examination rules and will not be tolerated.
Addressing circulating rumors, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has provided clear clarification regarding the examination structure for the 2024 BECE. Contrary to earlier reports suggesting a reduction in the number of papers, candidates will be required to sit for 8 papers during the examination.
The proposed 5-subject format has not been approved by the GES, and schools are encouraged to disseminate accurate information to students and parents.
