Within the past few weeks, there have been many media reports of how many senior high schools across the country are recording many Covid-19 cases.
However, the Ghana Education Service and the Ghana Health Service have issued a joint press release reacting to those media reports of covid-19 outbreak in schools.
In the press release, the Ghana Education Service acknowledged that some of the senior high schools in the country have recorded Covid-19 cases with Accra Girls Senior High School recording most of the Covid-19 cases.
The statement revealed that as at “13th July, 2020, a total of 314 persons
(student and staff) from the School have been tested. Out of these. 55 have
been confirmed positive for Covid-19 while 259 persons tested negative.”
