The University for Development Studies (UDS) recently commemorated its 23rd Congregation Ceremony to honor students who successfully completed their studies during the 2021/2022 academic year.

A remarkable total of 7,072 students graduated from UDS, showcasing the university’s commitment to academic excellence. Among the graduates, 27 students proudly attained their PhDs, while 261 achieved Master’s Degrees. The majority, 6,784 students, were awarded various Bachelor’s Degrees, marking a significant milestone in their educational journey.

Mr. Abdul Rahman Lansah, the valedictorian of this cohort, earned his Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.89. In his speech, he reflected upon the arduous and lengthy path that led them to their graduation day.

On behalf of the graduating class, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated faculty, administrators, and staff of UDS. Additionally, he extended appreciation to the families and benefactors whose unwavering support played an integral role in their success.

Mr. Lansah urged his fellow graduands to embrace their roles as catalysts for change and emphasized the importance of staying relevant to society. He emphasized that their impact would be measured by the problems they solve and the lasting legacy they leave behind.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to deserving students from various schools and faculties. Rahma Issah stood out as the Best Graduating Female Student, having achieved a remarkable CGPA of 4.81 in her BSc. Agribusiness program. Her exceptional dedication and academic prowess made her a deserving recipient of this prestigious accolade.
