The North Tongu Constituency Lawmaker has initiated a free Cervical Cancer Screening for female Constituents in his Constituency in commemorating this year’s Special Mother’s Day.

Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in his Mother’s Day Message said, his office has announced a week free cervical cancer screening for all females in the North Tongu District effective today Sunday, 9th May, 2021 through to Saturday, 15th May, 2021.

“As we honour our mothers, all my beloved female constituents should take note that they are entitled to free cervical cancer screening all week from today through to Saturday.” He announced.

According to the Member of Parliament, the outstanding Dr. Kofi Effah and his awesome colleagues at the Battor Catholic Hospital in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region will be responsible for screening all his female Constituents.

Mr. Ablakwa reiterated that, more than 1,500 women die every year in Ghana due to cervical cancer. This, he believes that, there’s a need to support females to undergo this special screening so as to curb this problem.

As one of the committed advocates of Servical Cancer, he said, through screening and early detection we can stop the needless deaths for we need our lovely mothers alive.

1. St. Anne’s Polyclinic, Tagadzi-Dorfor
2. Fakpoe CHPS
3. Kluma CHPS
4. Volo Health Centre
5. Juapong Health Centre
6. Catholic Hospital, Battor
