Access Bank Ghana is inviting applications from all eligible applicants to contest in the 2023 Womenpreneur programme.
Womenpreneur programme: Initiative Background
Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton
Launched is an initiative launched in the year 2019 by Access Bank. The programme, Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton programme is the first women-in-business support initiative of its kind in the industry offered by Access Bank’s W Initiative.
The focus of the programme is to provide female-owned businesses across Africa an opportunity to access finance, world-class business training as well as mentoring opportunities aimed at growing their businesses.
Programme duration: Competition duration
The contest is a five (5) monthly competition in partnership with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Agriculture and Finance Consultants (AFC).
The success story since inception, 2019
The programme has accumulated a lot of success stories since its inception year, 2019.
Since its inception in Ghana, over hundred (100) women entrepreneurs have received over 1.2 million cedis as grants, insurance, and mini-MBA with IFC.
This year, 2023 is no exception. Many women in business will stand the chance of winning a share of the GHS 300,000.00 cash prize and free business advisory services.
Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton

Partners of Womenpreneur programme
The five (5) month competition, Womenpreneur partners with Agriculture and Finance Consultants (AFC) and The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
Application process
Stage 1:
- Fill out the online application.
- Fill out your personal and business details correctly.
- Fill out a brief description of your business and attach business registration documents.
Video instruction for application
- Upload your one-minute pitch video (Tell us about your business in 60 seconds.
- Create a 60-second video with clear audio about your business using a video camera or a phone.
- The video should not be more than 150 MB).
- Complete your registration.
NB: Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for in-person visits to their businesses.
Stage 2
The top 50 applicants shortlisted will undergo the Business Management Bootcamp (BMB) by GIZ/AFC.
Stage 3:
After the training, all 50 finalists will pitch before a jury.
Womenpreneur eligibility criteria
There is a well-defined eligibility criteria for applicants in this contest.
Below are the eligibility criteria.
Women between the ages of 18 and 45, who:
- Are residents in Ghana.
- Own and manage an Agribusiness or Agro-allied business.
- Own at least 50% shares in the business.
- Business must be registered and in active operations for (1) one year and above.
Womenpreneur programme rewards
There is a well-defined reward for winners accordingly. The prize list is as follows:
- 1st prize- GH¢ 100,000.00
- 2nd prize- GH¢ 100,000.00
- 3rd Prize – GH¢ 100,000.00
- 4th prize – GH¢ 10,000.00
- 5th prize – GH¢ 10,000.00
- 6th prize – GH¢ 10,000.00
- MD’s Special Award – GH¢ 20,000.00

Free Business Advisory Services for 3 months for all top 50 finalists
Application deadline
All applicants are urged to submit the needed details and work evidence on or before 29th October 2023.
Training for applicants
The final 50 applicants will attend the boot camp developed in partnership with AFC and GIZ for five weeks.
The boot camp will involve virtual, practical, and coaching training methods.
Graduating enterprises/Women will compete and pitch their business by infusing learnings from the training.
Business Management Bootcamp will involve a 1-week in-person training and a 4-week virtual training.
