The Founder/Chief Executive Officer of CoverGhana, Mr. Nicholas Kelvin Agboni, has been elected as the Secretary for the Ghana National Association of Teachers on Campus at the University of Cape Coast (GNATOC-UCC) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The former National General Secretary of the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) was elected as the GNATOC-UCC Secretary on July 15, 2024, in an election conducted by the Electoral Commission of GNATOC-UCC.
Mr. Agboni Nicholas Kelvin won the election in a keen contest against his opponent, Mr. Gabriel Aabier Atta, a level 300 education student at the University of Cape Coast.
Mr. Agboni Nicholas Kelvin is a level 200 student studying BSc Physics in the Department of Physics at the University of Cape Coast.
Agboni Nicholas Kelvin, popularly known as CoverGhana, is also the founder/CEO of CoverGhana, a relevant and reliable hub for educative news that serves Ghana and beyond in all news aspects.
According to the constitution of GNATOC-UCC, the Secretary is charged with performing the following functions:
The Secretary shall:
1. Keep accurate and true records of proceedings at all meetings and shall be in charge of all correspondence.
2. Endorse all communiqués and resolutions for and on behalf of the Association in consultation with the president.
3. Call meetings in consultation with the president and/or other executive members.
4. Act as the president in the absence of the substantive president.
5. Be a signatory to all GNATOC-UCC Bank Accounts.
6. Represent the Association at all external meetings in the absence of the president or together with the president.
7. Perform any other duties assigned by the President or the Governing Council.
Report on GNATOC-UCC Executive Elections for the 2024/2025 Academic Year
According to the Electoral Commission of GNATOC-UCC, the GNATOC-UCC Executive Elections for the 2024/2025 academic year were conducted online successfully on July 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Describing the 2024/2025 election process, the EC chairperson Mr. Mumuni Samdeen stated that the online voting process allowed members to cast their votes securely and conveniently.
Mumuni Samdeen explained that prior to election day, members were informed about the voting process and provided with guidelines on how to participate in the elections.
Further, he touched on the collation of the results and their declaration, saying, “The results of the elections were tabulated and verified immediately after the voting period ended.”
The newly elected Executives for the 2024/2025 academic year are as follows:
1. President: Mr. Nat Thomas Mbeah
2. Secretary: Mr. Nicholas Kelvin Agboni
3. Treasurer: Miss Harriet Addae Boateng
4. Organizer: Mr. Humphrey Akorli Ahisco
5. GNATLAS Coordinator: Miss Rita Alorti
