CAGD raises concern on uploading employee Ghana card

CAGD
The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has raised concerns about uploading employee Ghana card in the Third Party Referencing System (TPRS).
In a letter signed by the Deputy Controller & Accountant-General -PM for Controller & Accountant-General, Wisdom Komlan Messan, CAGD said the Department’s attention has been drawn to the uploads of black and white (photocopy) Ghana cards on the Third Party Referencing System (TPRS), which is part of the eligible documents for approval.
The CAGD in their official release indicated that they have identified and queried all transactions involving black and white Ghana cards of Government of Ghana (GoG) employees.
The Third Party Referencing System (TPRS) is an important system that helps reduce impersonation and fraud in transactions involving GoG employees.
Explaining how the system operates, they indicated that the business process for a successful transaction on the TPRS requires that a GoG employee generates a mandate with a One-Time Password (OTP) and presents a valid Ghana card to be uploaded.
Further, the release stressed that the image uploaded should be colored in order for them to check and reduce impersonation as it used to be years ago.
Third-Party Institutions (TPIs) are expected to comply with all the business processes, including the one stated above, to help reduce impersonation and fraud. It is important for TPIs to comply with these processes to ensure the security and safety of transactions involving GoG employees.
ANNOUNCED DEADLINE
The CAGD has given Third Party Institutions up to 30th June 2023 to comply with the above process. It is essential for all TPIs to adhere to the business process outlined above to ensure the continued success and effectiveness of the TPRS in reducing fraud and impersonation.
In conclusion, the CAGD is counting on the usual cooperation of all businesses in complying with the outlined process to help reduce fraud and impersonation. The TPRS is an important system that helps ensure the security and safety of transactions involving GoG employees. Compliance with the outlined process is essential for the continued success of the TPRS.
