Certified results for UCC SRC and Local NUGS Online Polls 2023

An online poll was recently conducted to gauge the opinions and preferences of students ahead of the upcoming SRC and Local NUGS elections.
The poll, organized by Botaepa Consult, aimed to assess the readiness of voters for the election season, voter interest in different portfolios, and the candidates’ standing in the race.
With a total of 2,590 students participating in the poll, the results provided valuable insights into the student body’s preferences.
However, it’s important to note that the poll results are not the actual election results but predictions based on respondents’ opinions.
Among the candidates for the L-NUGS President position, Godfred emerged as the frontrunner with 34.6% of the votes, closely followed by AJ with 31.7%.
For the SRC Women’s Commissioner role, Hawa received a significant majority with 57.9% of the votes, while Ohenewaa garnered 42.1%.
The SRC Sports Secretary position saw Fredo securing the majority with 56.8% of the votes, while the SRC Secretary position saw Dorita leading with 42.2% of the votes.
As for the SRC PRO role, Abdul received 32.5% of the votes, closely followed by Education with 23.7%.
Tony Yeboah and Abodie emerged as strong contenders for the SRC Treasurer position, with 51.4% and 48.6% of the votes, respectively.
The most hotly contested position was that of the SRC President, with Team SK leading the pack, securing 43.5% of the votes. They faced strong competition from Team Appiah Kubi with 28.8%, and Team Possible with 16.9%.
Botaepa Consult faced some challenges during the polling process, including skeptics questioning the credibility of the poll.
However, the team has reiterated its commitment to transparency and an open-door policy to address concerns and improve their services.
It’s important to remember that the poll results are indicative of the opinions expressed by the student body at the time of the poll and should not be seen as the final election results.
As the actual elections draw near, the candidates will continue their campaigns, seeking to win the hearts and votes of the University of Cape Coast students.
