CETAG to suspend strike after members voted to resume work

The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) is to officially suspend their nationwide strike after the leaders of CETAG have asked its members to vote on the proposal of the Education Minister.
Out of the forty-six local branches under CETAG, 17 Colleges representing 48.57% voted for the strike to continue until all of their demands are met and 18 Colleges representing 51.43% voted for the suspension of the strike and resume after two weeks if their needs are not met. 11 members were absent for the voting.
The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana vote on the strike action is as follows:
- “Continue with strike till all demands are met: 17 Representing: 48.57%
- Suspend the strike. Resume if outstanding issues are not resolved within two weeks after suspension: 18 Representing: 51.43%
- ABSTENTION: 11
By a majority decision of 51.43% at the close of voting and collation today, 14th December, 2022, @ 6:00 P.M, the strike stands suspended and resumes if outstanding issues are not resolved within two weeks after this suspension.”
