Completed but abandoned projects in North Tongu, a total waste of state resources (ARTICLE)

Mornyuie Kennedy
In December 2016 came a constitutional space to elect a leader to superintend the day – to day adminstration of our dear country Ghana. A lot of lies were told and Ghanaians, as development oriented as they were, bought into the grand scheme of “ma tricky wo” and voted for the current mismanagement called a government, a margin of 21,000 votes difference was enough to enable “Atta Ayi” defeat the “Messiah” at the time.
My article would concentrate a bit more on the local assembly of North Tongu.
Prior to the “Messiah” leaving office, the “angels” wing of the “Messiah” took a lot of inspiration from the Messiah and undoubtedly pushed a lot more projects to “Angel Worgbedzi’s” cabin to the point that, North Tongu District has become a scene to watch.

But as always propounded that governance is continuum, North Tongu Angel of the past Messiah administration started and put to completion a lot of capital intensive projects. Some of whom included but not limited to;
1) Volo SHS
2) Musahamat farms (private sector led but government was instrumental in its establishment)
3) Extension of electricity to over 150 communities
4) Distribution of over ten school buses to all SHS schools and special schools.
5) Construction of Juapong – Adidome road that has almost stalled. Etc.
The article is to concentrate on some projects which were started by the previous government and completed by the current administration but left to rot in the bush.
Firstly, Fodzoku Police station: This project was started by the previous administration and was 90 – 95% complete at the time the new government took over the rein of leadership, they managed to complete it one and a half years into their administration. For almost two years now the project funded by the taxpayer’s money is sitting in the bush under equipped.

Guess what the needs were!
In narrating the ordeal, one of the chiefs of the area opined that the community had purchased tables, chairs, and a lot more of equipment to make the facility operational. What is needed from the Assembly is Counter and hooking the facility to the national grid. These simple and less costly items the Assembly is so incompetent that they’re confused as to what to do to secure the lives and property. Be assured that the second coming of H.E John Dramani Mahama will restore glory to the chiefs and people of Fodzoku.
It must also be placed on record that, the Juapong District command of the Ghana Police Service is ready to dispatch personnel to the facility but for electricity in the facility.
Secondly, Dorfor Adidome Police station started and completed by the NDC government under the leadership of the Messiah who will soon return, bequeathed to the current borrowing government for four years is left to rot. No personnel, no counter and some other needful equipment to make the place operational.
Incompetent as they were, they forcefully sited a new Police station at Volo against the wise counsel from the youth of the area for a different project rather than police station.

Those who knew well the stretch from Dorfor Adidome to Volo would not encourage any well meaning investor to site a Police station at Volo under the current circumstances where personnel and basic facilities to make the places operational are cumbersome to come by. Today even though completed, Volo Police station had also joined the association of North Tongu abandoned police stations.
Another completed but abandoned projects in the North Tongu constituency is Volo Police station. For further clarification on current status of project, refer to project number two above.
Again, the next NDC government will restore glory to both Dorfor Adidome and Volo. My last interactions with the chiefs and people of Volo traditional area, I am clear in my mind that Volo will vote 95% to returnee Messiah and Angel supervising North Tongu constituency.

In addition, Alabonu CHPS compound. As fate would have it, Alabo CHPS compound was started and almost completed by the Messiah’s administration. Due to the change of government, the current ‘aboboya’ administration though did well to complete it, the facility is left to rot. Basic equipments to get the facility running is begging to be procured almost two years and counting.
Furthermore, Deve CHPS compound. Just as Alabo CHPS compound, Deve was started by the previous Messiah Administration, then came this military-like government who completed it but for almost three years the facility is sitting idle as Community folks trek a long distance to access health care at Battor.
Also, the Samsung Digital Center. This facility is situated at Volo the home of the leader of the District yet the facility is rotting away. As record have it, again, the previous government and party pioneered the establishment of the Digital health Center to facilitate health delivery services, it is without personnel and left to rot.
Nyatikpo CHIPS compound. This was where conspiracy theory was deployed to make failures voice heard. This health facility was started by the immediate past government and completed by the Angel assigned by the Messiah who the heavens have granted permission to go have a rest but will return in 2021 to continue his miraculous works. Understanding the health needs of the people the assigned Angel upon completion, equipped and handed over the project to the chiefs and people of the area.
Days before commissioning and handing over of facility, information was sent through to District Health Directorate, upon sensing ‘nukpe’ (disgrace), some invisible hands blocked the Directorate from receiving the project. So they sent a message to the invitee that all staff of the Directorate were engrossed in a different assignment so could not make it to the handing over. After the ceremony, they have conspired not to open the place let alone send staff for the hate they have for the people of Nyatikpo and environs. The second coming of the ‘Messiah’ portends hope for all.
Quickly check other abandoned projects;
Eight, Juapong – Podoe – Abutia – Ho Road.
Nine, Aveyime – Asutsuary road
Ten, Volivo bridge
Eleven, Sege – Battor – Mepe Road etc.
It is trite knowledge that this ‘excavator’ government borrowed so much money but nothing to show for same (Ghc135 billion) in less than four years.
This government has been fortunate, fortunate because a lot more oil revenue flowed in their way but nothing tangible to show for it.
Even local wise, a lot more of revenue were collected especially the sand levy. Formally, only Battor traditional area contributes sand revenue to the Assembly. Fortunately as they have been always, Mepe traditional area also joined the sand business flay. Mind you it is more revenue for the North Tongu District Assembly but the Assembly can not find its feet in putting the money to good use to benefit the people.
In conclusion, it looks more of a wasted four years of this government and her surrogates. Nothing reasonable is happening in our district.
My opening remarks talked about some major and life changing projects started and completed by the Messiah’s party, when voted to power we shall continue to send rapid development oriented programmes and policies to ensure that our towns and villages develop equitably.
Some key words and their meaning.
Messiah – John Mahama
Angel – Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa
Previous administration – NDC government under John Mahama
Aboboya government – government of Nana Addo
Excavator government – Nana Addo and nepotistic government
Atta Ayi government – corruption ridden Nana Addo government
Let’s change this ‘bugabuga’ type of leadership by bringing
John & Jane to rescue Ghana and Ghana will wrap/wear it’s beautiful kentey cloth again.
