Concerned NDC Youth urges President Mahama to appoint defeated MPs

Concerned National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth have urged President John Dramani Mahama to consider appointing defeated Members of Parliament (MP) to key positions in his administration.
According to the Concerned NDC Youth in a release dated March 30, 2025, copied to the “Vice President of Ghana, Chief of Staff, Council of State chairman, and all MPs who lost their Seats recently” it was stated that their appeal is driven by the belief that these individuals (defeated MPs) have demonstrated exceptional leadership, legislative expertise, and commitment to national development; hence, they should appoint the 2024 defeated NDC MPs to work with the government despite their loss.
The release to the President reads
Your Excellency,
We, the Concerned Youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), write to respectfully appeal that you consider appointing all the party’s Members of Parliament who were unsuccessful in the recent elections. We recognized the appointment of a few of them. Your Excellency, we believe that they all deserve an appointment.
These distinguished individuals energized and kept the grassroots solid and demonstrated exceptional leadership, legislative expertise, and unwavering commitment to national development during their tenure. Their contributions to the parties’ victory and their parliamentary duties underscore their capacity to continue serving Ghana effectively.
Given their deep understanding of critical sectors such as education, healthcare, and economic policies; their inclusion in your government would provide invaluable continuity and reinforce your vision of resetting the nation. These MPs were part of the 8th parliament that gave us an opposition speaker of parliament, which adds up to the voice of our double party, NDC.
Moreover, such appointments would affirm your administration’s dedication to inclusivity, meritocracy, and the consolidation of democratic values. By harnessing their experience, you would not only honor their past service but also strengthen governance through the strategic deployment of skilled personnel.
We trust that you would consider our humble plea your Excellency.
Thank you
