Subsequent to the declaration, the NDC’s Presidential Candidate and former President, John Dramani Mahama rejected the results on the score that the declared results were error ridden and accused Ghana’s Electoral Commission of vote padding and rigging of the 2020 Presidential results in favor of Ghana’s sitting President, Nana Akufo Addo.

The dispute has resulted in several nationwide protests and clashes with security agencies which has led to the loss of about five lives.

Democratic forum as an institution has independently evaluated the figures as presented by the electoral commission and juxtaposed same with various pink sheets available to us from some selected constituencies and have come to an indisputable conclusion that, “Ghana’s Electoral Commission was not diligent enough in the collation of the 2020 Presidential results, and that the errors involved are significant enough to affect the outcome of the election results.”
