Dumsor is causing untold agony; Nana Addo must hold direct engagement with Ghanaians through press conference -Okudzeto

North Tongu constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed the cry and worry of many Ghanaians on the topic of dumsor.
The government through its appointees disclosed that there is no dumsor in Ghana however, for days now the citizens are facing heavy dumsor which has no timetable to control power shedding.
Speaking about the much-concerning dumsor issue, the North Tongu lawmaker, Hon. Okudzeto in a public statement said “DUMSOR is traumatizing millions, collapsing businesses, destroying electrical equipment and causing untold agony.”
He called on the President to tackle the issue and other relevant issues via press conferences and direct the MD of ECG to release a power shedding timetable to help Ghanaians to plan their days and businesses.
“It is time President Akufo-Addo holds a direct engagement with the Ghanaian people through a press conference and a people’s assembly which would enable him come to terms with the current reality instead of listening to his deceptive, inept and arrogant appointees who insult us by asking that we prepare our own DUMSOR timetable.”
Talking about freedom in the press/media, Hon. Okudzeto threw light on the government’s inability to hold an open media engagement to listen to the voice of the people.
“President Akufo-Addo is arguably the only president in the world who has not held an open media engagement to take unfiltered questions from journalists in over 4 years.”
Further, the lawmaker touched the sitting aloof attitude of the Ghanaian media and acting bias when it comes to echoing the challenges the the nation is experiencing.
“I am really surprised the Ghanaian media has accepted this unhealthy development as a new normal.”
“No Ghanaian president has been allowed to get away with what Akufo-Addo is getting away with — absolutely despicable!”
