DZOSEC Headmaster “chopping” saga: CREP strongly condemns alleged forcible misconduct by Headmaster
The Centre for Research and Education Policy (CREP) in an official release dated December 6, 2025, strongly condemned reports that the Headmaster of Dzodze Penyi Senior High School (DZOSEC), Mr Joshua Yao Vidzro, forcefully engaged in sexual relations with female students, resulting in pregnancies.
CREP also condemned the other part of the allegation that talks about a minor’s involvement, and allegedly threatening the students to prevent them from reporting the incidents.
CREP stated that “These claims, supported by a viral audio recording and multiple media reports, are profoundly disturbing.”
“CREP unequivocally condemns these acts in the strongest possible terms. Such behavior, if verified, represents a gross violation of child protection laws, educational ethics, and human decency. No authority figure should ever exploit, coerce, or intimidate students under their care. The safety, dignity, and holistic development of students must always remain paramount.”
“CREP has called on the Ghana Education Service (GES), Ghana Police Service, Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU), and all relevant authorities to act without delay. A thorough, impartial, and transparent investigation must be conducted, and immediate measures put in place to safeguard the affected students.”
“Immediate medical, psychological, and protective support must be provided to the students to ensure their safety, confidentiality, and emotional well-being during the investigation.”
“CREP also urges a comprehensive review of governance at Dzodze Penyi Senior High School to identify systemic failures, policy gaps, or oversight lapses that may have contributed to an environment in which such abuse could occur. Accountability must extend beyond the individual to institutional reform.”
Finally, CREP appeals to the media and the public to report responsibly, protecting the privacy and dignity of the students, particularly the minors, and avoiding sensationalism that could further traumatise them.
“CREP remains committed to monitoring developments closely and advocating for safe, secure, and accountable learning environments in all Ghanaian schools.”
