EC interdicts 5 officials after discovering that Biometric Verification Devices disappeared

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has interdicted five (5) officials after discovering that they have hands in the missing Biometric Verification Devices (BVDs).
EC’s decision to interdict these officials confirms that they have attached strictness and seriousness to the occurrence and willing to make a clear way forward. However, their identities have not been disclosed.
The BVDs, which are used to authenticate voters during elections, play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
The lost BVDs according to reports were discovered during a routine inventory check conducted by the EC ahead of upcoming elections.
According to the masses, the disappearance of the BVDs is an indication that the Commission will involve in electoral fraud come the 2924 General Elections. Netizens also shared that the Electoral Commission should find a better solution to the occurrence before the scheduled date for General Elections.
