Forcing them to play nonsense – Maxwell Lukutor shakes the ground with his usual ‘coughs’

Growing up I learnt of a strategy in football referred to as “force them to play nonsense” This is usually adopted by a team when they realized that the opposing team is more skillful than they are. They will then agree to play rough (bugabuga) to frustrate the skillful team so they don’t get to their peak performance. On the other hand, the skillful players will be playing ‘suulia’ to cause the opponents to attempt attacking them badly attracting red cards and thereby reducing their numbers.
The upcoming 2020 elections in Ghana is seen and predicted to be the election that will be the most fiercely fought one in the history of Ghana. This is because the two top line candidates would have both tested power for a term of four years each. There would then be a leveled playing field for both players to exhibit their skills.

I remember the infrastructure debate on TV3 recently between Afenyo Markins (the Efutu Champion) and Felix Ofosu Kwakye (the baby with sharp teeth ) where Felix referred to himself as Maradona being heckled by Afenyo the rough tackling defender. This resulted in the youth of Efutu issuing a presser demanding that their hard working MP should henceforth refuse such invites for an infrastructure debate to save himself from further disgrace. After all our people say “Lo ƒe ŋukpe la ʋe ƒe ŋukpe wonye” to wit the disgrace of a crocodile is the shame of the alligator.
But, I realized the infrastructure debate has not ended oh. The Tracker is being tracked by all and items being pulled down from it ‘rough rough’ 😩. The usual mantra of being misled has come to the fore. A lot of private organizations are attacking NPP for “stealing” their projects and attributing it to government. It is said that “its easy to steal a drum but where to play it becomes the problem” Many people are questioning government on how they could load projects on websites without same being on the ground or those existing being duplicated and triplicated. I remember the case of South Tongu District where the tracker said there is a new market in Comboni, but its a fiasco.
Several others are taking videos and pictures of uncompleted projects which were captured as completed and exposing the hypocrisy and lies of the ‘King of lies’ Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (According to Google).
Frustrated chiefs and some known NPP Journalists are daring President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to move away from the opposition leader’s campaign style of “I will do” to “I have done” before demanding for a renewal of his presidential mandate.
I see a lot of sound minds making serious cases for John Dramani Mahama on the infrastructural score card. I heard JDM saying he is happy NADAA said this year’s election will be based on records and called for an infrastructure debate which has not been honoured and I believe would never be honoured by Nana. You don’t fight a warrior in his backyard and win.

NADAA came to the southern part of the Volta Region during the wee hours of the night, got people bused from Ho and other places to meet him in Keta just to commission a six classroom block (an act which would have been done by a DCE) and also cut sod for an existing water project in Agordomi. How and why do you cut sod to expand an existing project? But of course “necessity they say is the mother of invention.” He tried hard to convince Voltarians that the supposed Military invasion during the voter registration exercise was not targeted at them but at terrorists. My people say “Ne mele nu kpɔm o ha, ele nu sem” to wit even the blind who don’t see can hear.

Now at Ho I hear NADAA asking for tribal bigots not to be voted for. You see if there is so much pressure on you, you speak without remembering who you were under similar circumstances. Has Nana forgotten “yɛn akan ƒuo” statement? The “all die be die” The statement from Kennedy Agyapong targeted at Eʋes and Gas? The Osafo Marfo statement of smaller tribes not being worthy of leadership positions in Ghana? Gabby Asare Darko and Ursula Owusu’s reckless statements “yɛ dze yɛn maɛ? Are these not your kit and keen? Are these not tribal sentiments worthy of your condemnation? ” If you have not tasted death before watch those in deep sleep”
The hypocrisy is becoming too much in Ghana and our leaders sometimes speak as if the chiefs and people they govern can’t reason through issues.

Nana and his NPP are being forced to play ‘nonsense’ paaaa oh. Look carefully at the following.
1. Declaring 2020 as year of roads. Where are the roads
2. Promise 88 District and Regional hospitals within the year. At the last count sod was cut for about 3.
3. Displayed projects on a website for tracking which has backfired. Instead of tracking projects, they themselves are being tracked.
4. The Almighty Agyaapa deal (resulting in the ‘papaa no’ or ‘papa no’ lexis in Parliament) to save and store food for the unknown future. Smart move for family and friends. CSOs are not done with their scrutiny.
5. Feeding ‘belle full’ students. What is so critical that JHS students should be given free lunch at this time of Covid 19 when state resources are so stretched. Is it just to create job for the boys? I hear there was a fight at Suhum.

6. Giving ‘apor’ to SHS final year students just to score political points. They turned round to threaten you and you couldn’t do ‘foko’
7. Organising a press conference only to mention Mahama’s name 50 times and that of the President twice.
As you are being forced to play nonsense, remember “actions speak lounder than words” and “we shall see the full length of the toad during its funeral”
