Former North Tongu District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Osborn K. Divine Fenu has been confirmed dead on Sunday, October 26, 2025 following a tragic road accident.
Cause of Hon. Osborn K. Divine Fenu
According to reports, the fatal incident occurred around Central University while he was traveling to Accra. He was immediately rushed to the Tema General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Hon. Fenu was last seen in Battor earlier in the day, where he had attended to a family issue before embarking on the journey that sadly claimed his life.

Hon. Osborn Fenu was appointed as the District Chief Executive for North Tongu by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2021, during his second term in office. He served from 2021 to January 2025 as a DCE.

Divine Osborn Kwadzo Fenu Early Life and Family Background
Mr. Divine Osborn Kwadzo Fenu was born on 29th September 1980 and hailed from Manya Battor in the Volta Region. He was the son of the late Emmanuel Kwasi Fenu and Madam Vincentia Nyahamele Akorligle.
Divine Osborn Kwadzo Fenu Education
He began his education at Vome Methodist Basic School, completing in 1995, before continuing to Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School (ABAST), where he studied agriculture and completed in 1998.
He later attended St. Francis College of Education from 2000 to 2003, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with English from the University of Ghana, Legon in 2012, and obtained a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Cape Coast in 2019.

After completing St. Francis College of Education, he began his teaching career at Dadome L.A. JHS in September 2003. He later transferred to Battor Methodist JHS and eventually joined Aveyime Battor Senior High Technical School (SHTS), where he taught and served until his passing.
He also served as the Assistant Staff Secretary at Aveyime Battor SHTS, a Form Master, and the Second-Cycle Representative of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Aveyime Local.

A devout Christian, Mr. Fenu served as the Catechist and Caretaker of the Methodist Church Ghana, Battor Society, since June 2014. His spiritual leadership and humility earned him great respect within the community.

Mr. Fenu joined the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 1998, immediately after completing SHS. He steadily rose through the ranks — from Polling Station Secretary to Electoral Area Coordinator (two terms), then to Constituency Communications Officer, and later Constituency Secretary
In 2018, he was elected NPP North Tongu Constituency Secretary after winning a highly competitive election. His exceptional performance and organizational skills earned him recognition as one of the most effective secretaries the party had ever produced in the district.
He came close to being appointed DCE in 2017, after successfully passing the constituency, regional, and national vetting stages but narrowly missed the final selection.
