France was one of the host nations for the World Cup tournament in its early days. They were the host of the 3rd FIFA World Cup in history (1938) and the host of the 16th (1998).

France is one of the World Cup host nations. They were the winners of the 1998 and 2018 World Cups.

WORLD CUP PLAYED BY MBAPPÉ

Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick at the 2022 World Cup in the final game with Argentina in the extra time making a draw (3-3).

Even though Argentina defeated France and lifted the trophy, Mbappé won the GOLDEN BOOT which was warranted by his hat-trick and Messi also won the GOLDEN BALL at the 2022 World Cup tournament in Qatar.
