The office of the President has responded to allegations made against President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo by Mr. Martin Amidu in his resignation letter.

Mr. Martin Alamisi Amidu resigned as Special Prosecutor after three (3) years of his appointment by President Nana Akufo Addo as the first Special Prosecutor after the passage of the Act 959 which established the office of the President.

In his resignation letter, Mr. Martin Amidu indicated that he decided to resign because of President Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo’s was interfering with his work.

However, the Presidency has responded to the allegations made by Mr. Martin Amidu in his resignation letter. In response from the Presidency’s indicated that, no Government appointee or the President has ever interfered in Mr. Martin Amidu’s work as Special Prosecutor.
