GES announces end of first term assessment schedules for Basic Schools

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced end of first term assessment schedules for Basic Schools across the country.
In a statement authored by the Deputy Director-General, Lawyer Anthony Boateng, Management of Ghana Education Service has reminded and directed all Regional Directors that there should be end of term assessment in all basic schools.

The schedules of the assessment for all Basic Schools as announced by GES are as follows:
1. Assessment of pupils/learners from Kindergarten to Lower Primary in Numbering and Literacy.
2. For upper primary, GES said, they should be assessment of the lerners/students in both English Language and Mathematics.

3. Management of the Ghana Education Service has further directed that, teachers should conduct assessment for Junior High School students/learners in all the Core Subjects.
Meanwhile, there should be class tests and exercises in all other subjects from Kindergarten through to Junior High School.

The statement again said, the Assessment should be managed from the District Education Offices and supervised by the District Examination Committee.
GES has also directed all Regional Directors are to ensure strict compliance with these directives.
