GES clears confusion on Lesson Notes Preparation for Teachers

Ghana Education Service (GES) has finally cleared the confusion on lesson note preparation for teachers in Ghana.
The official letter dated 17th January 2024 was signed by Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh Deputy Director-General (Q&A) for Director-General.
Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the letter stated that it has come to their attention that, some misunderstanding between heads and their teachers in some schools in respect of lesson note preparations has brought some confusion.
Based on the awareness now, “Regional Directors are to bring to the attention of District/Municipal /Metropolitan Directors of Education to ensure that all heads of schools (Basic and Second Cycle) accept both handwritten and electronically prepared lesson notes in both printed and email forms.”
In other words, GES is directing that head teachers should accept the lesson note format a teacher can submit not necessarily the old way “handwritten” format.
Both the handwritten and electronically prepared lesson notes in both printed and email forms should be accepted.
In the current digital dispensation, teachers must infuse or embrace technology in the process of imparting knowledge which will also be another form of “role modeling” for the learners.
