GES officially releases dates for 2024 BECE and WASSCE

Ghana Education, Service (GES) has officially released the dates for BECE and WASSCE 2024 for school candidates.

This new update was released under the signatory of Prince C. Agyemang-Duah,  Ag. Director, Schools And Instructions Division for Director-General on February 5, 2024, copied to the Chairman (GES Council, Accra), Director-General (GES HQ, Accra), Deputy Director-General (MS), GES HQ, Accra, and the Deputy Director-General (Q&A), GES HQ, Accra.

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the letter informed all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools that the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), 2024 for School Candidates (SC) will be written as follows:

Date For 2024 BECE 

1. July 8-12, 2024 for BECE (SC)

Date for 2024 WASSCE

1. July 1- August 31, 2024, for WASSCE (SC)

In addition, GES said, “The West African Examinations Council will communicate the period for the registration of candidates for the examinations to the heads of schools in due course.”

GES also directed all Regional Directors of Education to communicate the information to Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to inform all Heads of Basic and Senior High Schools to take note and prepare the candidates for the examination accordingly.
