The Ghana Education Service (GES) has officially addressed the circulating information and provided clarification on the matter. They denied the changes/reduction in 2024 BECE subjects as the viral states.

In a recent social media post, GES emphasized that there have been no changes or reductions in the subjects for the 2024 BECE candidates. The Management of GES specifically urged the public to disregard the video suggesting alterations to the examination structure.

GES delayed in giving the said update. The news around the subject was in circulation about a month ago but the Management of GES ignored that viral news until, yesterday, 6th January 2024 when a video of the Director of Schools and Instruction Division at GES, Prince Charles Agyemany-Duah went viral to cement a month ago claim disclosed.

The video claimed that there would be a reduction in the number of subjects for the upcoming BECE. However, GES has categorically stated that this information is false and should not be considered accurate.

As the water got heated, GES issued an official statement to assure the public that any decision related to the BECE subjects would be communicated through “official channels”.

Stay tuned for further updates as we approach the 2024 BECE – a platform for students to prove their knowledge and skills in the subjects outlined by the Ghana Education Service.
