Ghana Gas hands over 3-unit classroom block to Three Town SHS
The Ghana National Gas Company has unveiled a new 3-unit classroom block at Three Town Senior High School (SHS) in the Ketu South Municipality of the Volta Region. This significant addition aims to alleviate the burden on students who previously had to study under trees due to the lack of adequate classroom facilities.
The School was established in 1987, it was initially operated as a community day school in the Ketu South Municipality. It has traditionally focused on practical-oriented programs such as Visual Arts, Agriculture Science, and Home Economics.
Three Town Senior High School, with a student population of 1,041, has long grappled with a shortage of infrastructure and educational resources, hindering a conducive teaching and learning environment.

The Assistant Headmaster for Administration, Simon Doe Avevor, representing Headmistress Vivianne Akosua Dzifa, emphasized the challenges faced by the school.
He noted, “Infrastructure development of the school has not seen a corresponding increase; the limited size of the school contributes greatly to the lack of massive infrastructure development of the school”.

“This situation exerts significant pressure on the already insufficient infrastructure, particularly in terms of classroom facilities. In response, various heads have resorted to innovative solutions to address the classroom space shortage, including the erection of makeshift structures, utilizing canopies as classrooms, and even conducting classes under trees.”
The school authorities have pointed out that students were compelled to attend five classes under trees, a situation that requires immediate attention and resolution.
Mr, Soglo Cyril a representative of the Ghana Education Service (GES) emphasized the vital role played by Three Town Senior High School within the Ketu South municipality. He underscored the need for additional facilities, particularly student accommodation, and called on authorities for support in providing classroom blocks, a school bus, a dining hall, a kitchen, and other essential resources.

Cyril expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of the 3-unit classroom block constructed by the Ghana Gas Company, acknowledging that it marked the commencement of the process to alleviate the school’s challenges.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ketu South, Maxwell Kofi Lugudor, has also expressed his gratitude on behalf of the Assembly for the support extended by Ghana Gas. He emphasized the importance of education in national development and envisioned the newly inaugurated facility as a means of enhancing the educational landscape at Three Town SHS.
Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Ghana Gas, Francis Augustus Badu, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting education, health, water, sanitation, and sports. He stressed that Ghana Gas would continue to give back to the community from the revenue generated through natural resources.
He encouraged students to take responsibility for maintaining the new facility for future generations.
