Ghana won’t make laws to infringe on peoples rights – Speaker to Australian High Commissioner

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has stated categorically that Ghana will not make laws that will infringe on peoples rights.
He said, the country will pass laws that will protect the country’s values, traditions, culture, religion and principles. The Speaker made this known when the Australian High Commissioner, Gregory Andrews paid a courtesy call on him at Parliament.

In his remarks, High Commissioner Gregory Andrews, known for his keen interest in Ghana’s culture and food, has spoken and put the rich Ghanaian culture he has enjoyed in the past niɛ months that he’s been in the country, and said it has had a positive image on his family.
The Members of Parliament present at the meeting praised the Commissioner about his passion on climate change and how Australia has supported Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Commissioner was urged to complete the sports facilities Australia promised Ghana and also enhance the Youth Ambassador Project where people within the ages of 18 to 30 can travel to Australia for educational purposes.
