Ghanaians will buy phone on credit and pay “Gh¢1 and Gh¢2” monthly under my government -Dr. Bawumia promises

The Vice President of Ghana and the 2024 flag bearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promised Ghanaians again if he win the 2024 General Elections, his government will introduce installment payment for smartphones purchasing.

According to Dr. Bawumia during his campaign tour, he added that his government will collaborate with smartphone manufacturers to materialize his plan.

“We will make mobile phones accessible, my government will partner with phone manufacturers so that Ghanaians can afford them on credit and pay 1 or 2 cedis every month.”

Dr. Bawumia told the masses that access to smartphones is no longer a luxury, but a necessity that unlocks opportunities for education, business, and staying connected with loved ones.

Promising, he said his government aims to make smartphones affordable to bridge the connectivity gap and foster an environment where every Ghanaian can thrive in the digital age.

Further, his statement has it clear that the initiative will enable students to access educational resources, entrepreneurs to expand their reach, and people to stay connected with loved ones, ultimately driving economic growth, social progress, and human development in Ghana.

“Access to smartphones is no longer a luxury but a necessity. It opens up opportunities for education, business, and staying connected with loved ones. By making smartphones affordable, we are not only enhancing connectivity but also fostering an environment where every Ghanaian can thrive in the digital age,” Dr. Bawumia added.
