Government allocates GH¢20 million to support communities affected by Akosombo Dam Spillage

In a commendable move to alleviate the plight of communities affected by the recent Akosombo Dam Spillage, the Ghanaian government has allocated a substantial sum of GH¢20 million.  The statement was made by Madam Frema Osei-Opare, the Chairperson for the Inter-ministerial Committee, during a press briefing organized by the Ministry of Information.

The Akosombo Dam, a vital source of hydroelectric power in Ghana, experienced a significant overflow due to heavy rainfall and the subsequent release of excess water.
