Government requests alternative funding for National Cathedral Project

In a recent development regarding the National Cathedral project, the Ministry of Finance has written a letter addressing the submission of an invoice for payment of an amount to US$5,817.769.65 (Five Million, Eight Hundred and Seventeen Thousand, Seven Hundred and Sixty- Nine US Dollars, Sixty-Five Cents.
Dated April 27th, 2021, the letter responds to a previous request for the release of funds to cover consultancy fees related to Variation Orders for the inclusion of a 300+ Seater Restaurant and the expansion of the Bible Museum on the National Cathedral premises.
The Ministry of Finance, in its response to the request, acknowledges the financial constraints faced by the government.
They suggest that, due to these budgetary limitations, the funding for the Variation Orders be sourced from an alternative funding source, while the government takes steps to secure additional funds for the project later in the year.
The letter concludes by expressing the government’s reliance on the continued cooperation of the concerned parties involved in the National Cathedral project.
This cooperation is essential to overcome the challenges posed by limited funding and to find suitable solutions for the successful completion of the project.
