GPP shutdown for maintenance – Outage plan
Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo)
The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCO) and The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have announced to the general public about maintenance works to be carried out by the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC).
In a joint release dated 30th March 2023 which was issued by Dzifa Bampoh, Manager for Corporate Communications at GRIDCo, and William Boateng, Director of Communications at ECG, they indicated that due to maintenance at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant (GPP), gas supply for power generation has been affected.
In addition, they said there will be approximately 150 megawatts of power generation shortfall which will reduce the total power supply for distribution by ECG until Friday 7th April 2023.
In this regard, there will be a minimal interruption in power supply to some ECG customers. ECG will therefore issue an outage timetable by Friday, 31st March, to inform customers accordingly.
Both GRIDCO and ECG regret the inconvenience caused by their maintenance schedule.
