GRA extends working hours for Custom Officers

The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced its proposal to extend the working hours for Customs Officers operating at the Long Room in Tema Collection.

The proposed extension will see an increase in the number of working hours per day, from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, effective from Monday, December 18, 2023, until the end of the year.

The decision to extend working hours is aimed at enhancing customs operations and improving efficiency in revenue mobilization. By extending the working hours, the Customs Division seeks to accommodate the growing demands of trade and ensure timely clearance of goods at the Tema Collection.

However, the success of this initiative relies on the collaboration and support of key stakeholders, including shipping lines and banks. The Customs Division acknowledges the crucial role these stakeholders play in facilitating trade and revenue generation.

Therefore, the Division appeals to shipping lines and banks to also consider extending their working hours to align with the proposed schedule.
