HAN Scholarship: HAN University of Applied Sciences
HAN Scholarship is a prestigious award offered to international students from outside the EU/EEA, providing financial support to pursue their academic dreams at HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. In collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, HAN University offers this scholarship to exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence and potential.
Are you an international student from outside the EU/EEA interested in pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree at HAN University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands? You may be eligible for a HAN scholarship, offered in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

HAN Scholarship: Application Portal Opening Date
The online portal for application was opened on 23rd March 2024 and is currently closed. However, the good news is that, They have recorded sessions of our talk shows about visa, housing, admission, scholarships, student life and more. So you can watch their videos wherever and whenever you like.

What Are The Han Scholarships?

For bachelor students
Scholarship Max. amount For whom? HAN NL Scholarship € 12,500 Non-EU/EEA students Honors Scholarship € 7,500 Non-EU/EEA students who didn’t get a scholarship in the 1st year HAN NL Scholarship (formerly HAN Holland Scholarship)
For this scholarship you receive € 2,500 in the 1st semester and € 2,500 in the 2nd semester. After that you can receive € 2,500 per year for the following 3 years of study. To get this you must continue earning the required 45 credits each year.Honors Scholarship
The Honors Scholarship is different. You don’t need to apply for it. The academic board of the study program selects students with outstanding academic results in their 1st year. Who is eligible? Students who meet the minimum requirements but did not receive a HAN NL Scholarship. The payment starts with € 2,500 in the 2nd year. After that you can receive € 2,500 each following year of study. To get this you need to earn the required 45 credits each year.
For master students

You receive € 2,500 in the 1st semester and € 2,500 in the 2nd semester.
Honors Scholarship
The Honors Scholarship is different. You don’t need to apply for it. The academic board of the study program selects students with outstanding academic results in their 1st semester. Who is eligible? Students who meet the minimum requirements but did not receive a HAN NL Scholarship. The Honors Scholarship is a once-only payment of € 2,500 in the 2nd semester.
HAN Scholarship: What Are The Requirements?
- You are a national of a country outside the EU/EEA
- You do not have a degree from an education institution in the Netherlands
- You have not previously been enrolled in a degree at a university or university of applied sciences in the Netherlands
- You have been accepted into a full-time English-taught degree program at HAN
- You have an IELTS score of at least 6.5, a TOEFL iBT score of at least 90 or a Cambridge Certificate (CAE or CPE)
