Haruna Iddrisu inaugurates 13-member committee to reverse double-track system in SHSs and SHTSs
Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, Education Minister, has inaugurated a 13-member committee to reverse the double-track system in Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs).
This initiative, according to the Education Minister, “underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing educational quality and ensuring all students have uninterrupted access to learning.”
The committee comprises distinguished experts from key educational institutions, including the University of Cape Coast (UCC), the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the Ghana Education Service (GES), and various stakeholders in education.
“Their expertise will be instrumental in shaping a sustainable strategy to transition back to a single-track system while maintaining access and quality,” Hon. Haruna Iddrisu stated.
“Education remains at the heart of our national development, and I am confident that this committee will recommend practical solutions that align with our broader educational reforms,” the Education Minister emphasised his wish for the double track system.
