Hon. Hawa Koomson reveals what caused the Fishes to be washed ashore
The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Hon. Hawa Koomson says the fishes washed ashore was caused by stress factor on the side of the fishes.
It could be recalled that some fishes were washed ashore in some beaches in the country which has got some persons suggesting that the fishes were washed ashore due water pollution.
However, according to the minister in charge of fisheries, the veterinary Doctors of the Fish health Unit of the fisheries Commission have conducted preliminary investigations into the cause of the incident.
The Minister stated that, the preliminary investigations conducted so far has revealed that the Fishes died because of stress factor on the side of the fishes.
“According to Dr. Peter Zidda, a fish health Specialist of the Fisheries Commission, preliminary investigations conducted so far has revealed that the fish kills occurred as a result of stress factor on the side of the fishes.” – Hon. Hawa Koomson said in her statement
Hon. Hawa Koomson further added that, further pathological investigations are been conducted on the gills of the fishes and any new development will be made public.
