Hon. Okudzeto donates GH¢100,000 as rent support for displaced teachers in North Tongu
The Honourable Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has donated GH¢100,000.00 as rent support for Displaced Teachers and Staff of the North Tongu Education Office.
On 16th November, 2023, Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa donated a seed fund of GH¢100,000.00 to the North Tongu Education Directorate to cater for his latest initiative titled “The MP’s Rent Support for Displaced Teachers & Staff of the North Tongu Education Office.”
A total of 167 displaced teachers and staff of the District Education Office who constitute the most affected by the VRA-induced floods can now apply directly to the District Director of Education to access the fund to support their rental of alternative accommodation.
The money was handed over to the North Tongu District Director of Education Madam Isabella Ayimey at a shorth ceremony held at the Mepe St. Kizito Senior High Technical School.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said “It is my expectation that this latest initiative will assure teachers in my beloved constituency that we value their sacrifices, and that we will not leave them out of our restoration efforts.”
“I hope this also helps in motivating them to return to the constituency as we work towards resuming full formal teaching and learning.”
