How to Block a Number from Sending You SMS
- Create a text message beginning with the keyword BLOCK, leave a space, then type the phone number or sender name you want to block.
- Send the message to the shortcode 1309.
- If successful, you will receive a message confirming that you have successfully blacklisted the number or sender name.
- Note that this will only block messages from the specified number.
How to Block a Name or Company from Sending You SMS
- Create a text message beginning with the keyword BLOCK, leave a space, then type the sender name you want to block.
- Send the message to the shortcode 1309.
- If successful, you will receive a message confirming that you have successfully blacklisted the sender name.
- Note that this will only block messages from the specified sender name.
How to Block All Loan Text Messages on Phone
- Send the message “Block E-loans” to the shortcode 1309.
- If successful, you will receive a message confirming that you have successfully blacklisted all loan text messages.
How to Check if All Block was Successful
- You can view the list of blocked contacts by sending “Check” to 1309.
- How to Fix Issues if You are Unable to Block Text Messages
- Make sure you are using the exact name or number of the Company as displayed on the title of the text message you receive.
- Use the “Advanced” options section of the text message to find the exact number of the Company.
Other Ways of Blocking Loan Messages
- Phone Blocking Settings: On most smartphones, tap on the three dots on the top right corner of the message you want to block, then go to Spam and Block.
- Truecaller Mobile App: This app is used for identifying unknown numbers and blocking them. Open Truecaller and go to the spam messages tab to view messages from all telecom operators. Press and hold the message you want to block, then hit the Block button.
