How to Register for GRA online auction

Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA)
The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has initiated a program that has to do with building a platform online to ensure smooth running of goods and products auctioned by the Authority at the Tema Port in Greater Accra region.
The Authority has accordingly given the procedure for bidding and auctioning on the site. The site, called AUCTION, is the new electronic way with which auctions are held. With this new system, if you are interested in any items auctioned by Customs, you have to register to be able to bid.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR GRA ONLINE AUCTION
• Enter auction.icums.gov.gh
• Click on ‘REQUEST ACCOUNT’ under the Login button
• Enter National ID number (Ghana card number) e.g. GHA-123456789-0
• Click on the ‘SEARCH’ bottom to verify ID
• Search automatically populates Name, Contact, GPS Address of person with that ID
• Enter an ACTIVE email address
• Select preferred channel of communication (SMS/Email)
• Solve security question
• You have registered successfully! Log in details will be sent to user (prospective bidder) through the selected channel of communication i.e. either Email or SMS
HOW TO BID FOR GRA ONLINE AUCTION
• Log into your auction.icums.gov.gh account on the day of auction.
• View items on display and commence bidding
• The successful bidder will be sent a message through the selected channel of communication i.e. either Email or SMS to continue with the process clearance at the location of the item.
• Delivery will be allowed when duties and taxes have been paid on the item(s);and all necessary procedures followed.
Bidders are also admonished to take note of the following:
1. Date of auction will be published
2. There are two types bidding namely; Open Bid and Closed Bid. Open Bids are such that a bidder would be aware other bid values whereas closed Bids are placed secretly. The two types of bids are specific to items put up for auction.
3. Any bidder who does not take the necessary steps to continue clearance within 48 hours losses the items. The items will be withdrawn and listed for re-auctioning.
