Adjetey Anang and his wife
Adjetey Anang, renowned actor and star of the iconic TV series “Things We Do for Love,” made a candid revelation about his marital challenges during the launch of his memoir, titled “Adjetey Anang:
A Story of Faith, Imperfection, and Resilience.” The unveiling took place on his 50th birthday, providing a poignant backdrop for the actor’s introspective account.
Chapter nine of the memoir, titled “Marital Challenges and Imperfection,” delves into the aspect of Anang’s life that has remained private until now.
In an honest and vulnerable narrative, he acknowledged engaging in both emotional and physical infidelity, recounting how conversations with other women ultimately led to these transgressions.
“I was naïve from the start, oblivious to subtle romantic advances, and perhaps made assumptions about people’s intentions until it was too late.
As time went on, I became bolder, more daring, and adventurous, even initiating flirtatious conversations that led to compromises,” Anang confessed on page 115 of the book.
With remorse in his voice, Anang admitted, “Yes, I have cheated on my wife emotionally and physically, engaging in behavior that was completely inappropriate.”
He extended his apologies to his wife and all the women he had crossed boundaries with, revealing that these experiences had been the lowest points in their marriage, nearly tearing them apart.
Acknowledging the forgiveness of both his wife, Elom Anang, and God, Anang expressed his gratitude, writing, “I’m grateful for Elom’s forgiveness and the love that has sustained us during those dark times.”
The memoir, beyond delving into Anang’s personal struggles, offers readers a glimpse into his journey to stardom, the impact he has made, the lessons he has learned, and the sacrifices that have shaped him over the years.
It paints a vivid picture of the individual behind the captivating screen characters he has portrayed, including the beloved Pusher from “Things We Do for Love.”
Simultaneously, during the birthday celebration and memoir launch, Anang introduced his health charity, the One in a Million-Health Foundation.
The foundation aims to provide quality healthcare resources to underprivileged individuals in deprived regions.
The charity’s name, “One in a Million,” signifies its goal of rallying one million people committed to donating GH₵1 every day for ten years to support those in need.
The event, filled with grandeur and attended by notable figures such as Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Member of Parliament for North Tongu, and Dr. Hassan Ayariga, founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), also drew a host of celebrities from the entertainment industry.
Nana Ama McBrown, Jackie Appiah, Eddie Nartey, Gloria Sarfo, Van Vicker, Fiifi Coleman, Martha Ankomah, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, Joselyn Dumas, Jessica Williams, Akofa Edjeani, and Naa Ashorkor were among the prominent personalities who lent their presence to the momentous occasion.
