Mohammed Irfaan Ali is the incumbent president of Guyana a country located on the South America’s North Atlantic coast. He is reported to be the first ever Muslim President in the country who begun his tenure of office on August 2, 2020.
His Excellency in his Pre-Presidential life has served as a member of the national Assembly of Guyana in 2006, he has also served as project manager of the Caribbean Development Bank’s project Implementation Unit in the ministry of finance sector.
He was also appointed as Minister of Housing and water and also minister of tourism industry and commerce during his Ministerial service.
He finally become the presidential candidate of the People’s Progressive Party /Civic(PPP/C) in March 2020.
After his presidential candidate selection, he was indicted on 19 fraud charges which he was alleged to have fraud the state over $174M from 2011-2015 and other charges which was later dismissed on the 14th August, by the office of the Special Organized Crime Unit(SOCU).
