Jesse Jackson Biography, Age, Net Worth, Husband, Children, Parents

American political activist, Baptist clergyman, and politician Jesse Louis Jackson is well known for his substantial achievements. He is the father of Jonathan Jackson, a current congressman, and Jesse Jackson Jr., a former congressman.
Martin Luther King Jr. served as Jackson’s mentor as he began his activist career, and he later founded organizations that subsequently united to form Rainbow/PUSH. He broadened his involvement to include global issues in the 1980s and actively opposed the Reagan presidency. Jackson began his bid for the presidency in 1984 and was first seen as an outsider. He surprised expectations, however, by finishing third in the Democratic primary behind Senator Gary Hart and former Vice President Walter Mondale.
Despite the loss, Jackson persisted in his tireless advocacy over the following three years and launched a second presidential run in 1988. He once more outperformed predictions and finished second to Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis.
