Kenyasi District Hospital is a John Dramani Mahama’s Project – Edem Koku Edem

A Ghanaian and citizen of Ahafo Mr. Edem Koku Edem has disclosed that, the Kenyasi District Hospital was constructed by former president John Dramani Mahama before he left office.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was, during his tour of Ahafo on Saturday, the 13th of September 2020 commission the Kenyasi District Hospital.

According to Mr. Edem Koku Edem, a scene was created as if there was no hospital in the District and it was the president and the New Patriotic Party who started the construction of the hospital.

The Kenyasi District Hospital was a Health Center serving the people of Kenyasi 1&2, Gomu, Akwidie, Obengkrom and other neighboring town within the Asutifi North District Assembly of the Ahafo.

Speaking to Coverghana.com.gh news team, Mr. Edem Koku Edem said, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under the able leadership of the District Chief Executive Hon. Eric Addae initiated the process for the upgrading of the health centre to a District Hospital.

He further added that, with the construction of an administration block, arrangements were made with the Minerals Commission to help build a 68 bed ward and Newmont Ghana helping with a one storey Doctor’s accommodation.

“As President Akufo-Addo does the commissioning, it is our hope that his handlers will encourage him to give great recognition to the NDC for taking the initiative.” He said.
