Ketasco NSMQ Star, Bright Senyo Gadzo, secures scholarship to study Electrical Engineering at Caltech

Bright Senyo Gadzo, the star of the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) representing Keta Senior High Technical School (Ketasco), has achieved a significant milestone by securing admission to the prestigious California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

The pivotal moment in Gadzo’s journey came during his participation in the 2021 NSMQ, a fiercely competitive inter-school quiz competition.

Despite facing setbacks and disappointments along the way, Gadzo’s unwavering determination and the support of his peers propelled him forward.

The Ketasco team, led by Gadzo, demonstrated exceptional knowledge and critical thinking skills, ultimately securing the bronze medal in the finals of the NSMQ.

The news of Gadzo’s admission to Caltech was announced by the CKODON Foundation, a non-profit organization, on its social media page.

The foundation revealed that the talented student had been awarded a scholarship worth $92,519, equivalent to GH¢ 1,110,000, to pursue a four-year Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering.

Expressing his gratitude, Gadzo acknowledged the instrumental role played by the CKODON Foundation in securing the scholarship that made his educational journey abroad possible.

He expressed his intention to use the knowledge and skills he acquires at Caltech to contribute to Ghana’s power sector and assist financially disadvantaged students in navigating the college application process.
