Meet Caleb Setorglo: University of Ghana Valedictorian for Bachelor of Arts with FGPA of 3.95
Valedictorian Mr. Caleb Setorglo from the University of Ghana College of Humanities where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in French, Spanish, and Linguistics graduated with a FGPA of 3.95.
He gained the spotlight in his third year of study at the University of Ghana when he topped the year-abroad scholarship list for both the Spanish and French departments.
Education Profile of Caleb Setorglo
Caleb Setorglo is an alumnus of Three-Town Senior High School, Denu in the Volta region, where he studied Languages and Literature. Subsequently, he received an offer of admission under the Less Endowed School Admission Policy to undertake studies in French language at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Unfortunately, he could not accept the offer due to the inability of his parents to financially support his university education.
Later, he embraced the opportunity to undergo training as a French teacher at Mount Mary College of Education, Somanya in the Eastern region.
During his course of study, his unwavering determination and resilience garnered him numerous academic accolades.
He achieved the distinction of being the top-performing student twice, in the DBE exams organized by the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast for the 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 academic year.
Caleb graduated with distinction and secured the position of valedictorian during the 2016 graduation ceremony, organized by the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast.
College Positions Caleb Setorglo held
Beyond the confines of the classroom, Caleb actively participated in college affairs. He democratically contested and secured the position of Vice SRC President for the 2013/2014 academic year.
Additionally, he chaired the academic committee and contributed immensely to various committees, aligning himself with the college’s goals and mission.
Teaching appointment after College
Following his graduation, Caleb accepted a teaching appointment in a fishing community at Ada, where he imparted knowledge in the French language and served as a role model for both the local fisherfolk and his students.
University Admission: University of Ghana admission
In 2018, Caleb secured admission to the University of Ghana to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in French, Spanish, and Linguistics.
Caleb’s stay in UG was a success for his academic expedition.
As a combined major student in French and Spanish, he graduated with an FGPA of 3.95. He gained the spotlight in his third year of study at the University of Ghana when he topped the year-abroad scholarship list for both the Spanish and French departments.
Faced with the two options, he deferred his programme for a year to avail himself for the scholarship, undertaking a study of the Spanish language, culture, and literature at the esteemed University of Salamanca in Spain.
Leadership roles at University of Ghana
During his period of study at the University of Ghana, Caleb also demonstrated leadership qualities as the advisor of the Spanish club executives for the 2020/2021 academic year.
He also actively volunteered in various university programmes.
Family, marriage, occupation, hobby
Caleb Setorglo is married and blessed with a child. He serves as a French tutor at the Tema Senior High School.
He loves to play tunes on the piano as a hobby. He aspires to ascend to the status of a renowned language educator and distinguished educational researcher as well as a policy analyst on a global scale.
