Meet Faith Aku Dzakpasu: A beacon of compassion and innovation in education

Madam Faith Aku Dzakpasu teaches at Greta “D” Shepherd Basic School in the Ga Central District, Greater Accra Region. She is a beacon of compassion and innovation in education.

Faith’s journey, rooted in her early days under the shade of a tree in the Northern Region, has blossomed into a legacy of educational excellence.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 

Faith is keen on reducing sanitation-related absenteeism among the girls she teaches, and she’s moving mountains to achieve her goal. Her “Pad Bank” initiative at Odorgono Model School ensured girls have access to essential menstrual hygiene products, combating absenteeism and promoting academic performance.

Her passion for literacy birthed the “Book Doctors” initiative, preserving textbooks and fostering a reading culture.

Her tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed. Faith was named among the 100 most influential change-makers in Ghana by the Humanitarian Awards and received recognition from the Ghana Outstanding Women Awards. Her contributions have been spotlighted by media houses like UTV, The Finder Newspaper, and GHOne TV.
