Meet the first African Gospel Mimer to win an International Award

Francis Jilac popularly known as J Mime is a Ghanaian gospel mime minister who has raised high the flag of Ghana and the continent of Africa, as the first African gospel mime minister to win the most prestigious Gospel Choice Music awards, an international award scheme in Atlanta, Georgia – USA for ministers in the gospel arts industry who inspire others through their craft.

This is the first time an African has won an award from this scheme in 27 years since its inception.

Francis Jilac hails from the Volta region of Ghana but was born and bred in Sunyani, the capital of the Bono Region in Ghana.

He had his passion for the art industry since childhood and nurtured it till in 2015.

Francis has ventured into full time Mime ministry and has mentors he looks up to and mime their messages including Rev. Lucy Natasha from Kenya, Pastor Ransford Obeng, Pastor Ohene Roger and Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams  from Ghana.

It is through his interest and love for the ministry and the things of God that has led him to win the Solo Mime Minister of the year in the Gospel Choice Music Awards, 2021.
