Minority caucus unfazed by potential seat loss amid parliamentary boycott: Samuel Nartey George

The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nartey George, has asserted that the Minority caucus remains undeterred by the possibility of losing their seats in Parliament due to their ongoing boycott of business activities in the chamber.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, recently ruled that the Minority’s continuous boycott without an official notification and approval amounts to a breach of the standing orders of the house, potentially leading to members of the group losing their seats.
However, in an interview on Eyewitness News, Sam George expressed the Minority’s determination to halt what they perceive as the persecution of their members.
He strongly criticized President Akufo-Addo, stating that he would go down in history as the worst president and most undemocratic person in the country.
Sam George affirmed that the Minority would not waver in resisting the alleged persecution, even if it meant losing the 137 seats they currently hold in Parliament.
He went on to suggest that declaring the 137 seats vacant and holding by-elections could lead to significant development in their respective constituencies.
Sam George’s comments reflect the Minority’s unwavering stance in opposing perceived injustices.
On the other hand, the Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, urged Ghanaians not to take the Minority’s actions seriously.
He questioned the reasoning behind the boycott and called for the Minority to demonstrate maturity in handling their grievances.
