Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma – Leading the CPP charge
Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma
Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma is the 3rd woman to be at the helm of affairs as the National Chair and Leader of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP).
Samia Yaba Nkrumah and Hajia Hamdatu Haruna Ibrahim had tried their effort towards redeeming and revival the once greatest Party on the continent of Africa. The CPP renaissance seem to come with lots of challenges from within and without. Some of these include internal wranglings and dissatisfaction amongst members across the rank and file of the Party. The Party for many years have had difficulty in raising funds and harnessing requisite resources needed to reorganize and rebuild.
The CPP for the past 20years have struggled to restructure the Party, ensured visibility with Party offices across the country, participate actively in the National geo-political engagement, empower its membership to engage the grassroot and mobilize. The Party has rather experienced deeper turmoils, friction and apathy.
These are the challenges confronting the CPP that would require the new National Leadership and Comrade Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma as the National Chair and Leader of the Party. This indeed is a Herculean Task and would require her to go deep within herself to search for answers and the fortitude to surge forward.
Born to one of the confidants and inner caucus member of the Nkrumah Administration, Nana Sarpong Kumankuma owes this to the memory of her father, her mentor and the many Ghanaian People looking for salvation and redemption from the retrogressive forces of our National Development agenda.
Fortunately Nana Hemaa is equally inheriting a Party with great legacy in terms of its political history and association amongst a legion of other socialist institutions globally and within the Pan African fraternity. Working passionately towards renewing such associations and relations would be a major step towards rebuilding the CPP.
She equally has the benefit of an increasing number of enthusiastic youth joining the Party and wanting to be part of the CPP Renaissance. Either being Sankofa, Rebuilding or the Fresh Start, there are new bloods boiling and bubbling with passionate energy to launch out.
The 2020 General Elections seem to be a litmus test for her new administration with but a little time to salvage the Party and prepare it for the work ahead. Thankfully she has the support of 16 Strong Regional Chairmen and 3 Able National Vice Chairmen who are equally aware of the enormity of work ahead and has demonstrated their readiness and commitment.
The spirit of the CPP and it’s Founding Fathers, the Ghanaian People and the People of Africa and the Black race in entirety are in waiting for the Emancipation of their DREAMS, HOPE and ASPIRATIONS to be a PROSPEROUS NATION.
There is therefore a resounding opportunity for Nana Akosua Frimponmaa Sarpong Kumankuma to lead the charge to relive the Aspiration.
