Naval Training Command to improve Human Development Resources in Ghana Navy – Akufo-Addo
The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has disclosed that, the newly commissioned Naval Training Command at Agorta-Nutekpor, in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region, will serve as an improvement to the development of human resources in the navy and other stakeholders in the maritime industry.
According to the President, the training command is going to accommodate all the training schools of the navy under a unified command in the country.
President Nana Addo said, the establishment of this ultra-modern training facility is one of the most important decisions taken by the New Patriotic Party’s Government, through the Ministry of Defence and the Military High Command.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony monitored by one of our reporters Tabitha Kugbonu, the President thanked the Minister for Defense and Member of Parliament for Bimbilla Constituency, Hon. Dominic Nitiwul for bringing this maritime center of excellent, which, over the years, has been the vision of several Chiefs in and around Agorta-Nutekpor community, to fruition.
President Akufo-Addo revealed these at the commissioning of the phase 1 of the newly built Naval Training Command on Tuesday, 20th October, 2020. He pledged government’s maximum support to ensure that the construction of the remaining school commences as quick as possible to make the command fully operational.
Naval recruits training school administration, Medical Center, Instructors accommodation, Accommodation for students, School of Maritime Operations and Naval Training Command Headquarters were the five major departments commissioned today by the President of the Republic.

On Tuesday, 20th October 2020, at the commencement of the President’s day’s working visit to the Volta Region, he made his first stop at the South Tongu District where he commissioned the Naval Training Command, for the Ghana Navy, at Agorta-Nutekpor among others.
