NDC chairman Asiedu Nketiah prays for son’s success in coming 2024 parliamentary elections
A video of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), offering prayers for his son Charles Asiedu, who is the NDC parliamentary candidate for Tano South, has been circulating online.
The video, shared by UTV on June 23, 2023, shows the chairman, also known as the “General Mosquito,” invoking blessings and success for his son’s electoral campaign.
In the video, Chairman Nketiah links the significance of his son’s birthday with the Assin North by-election and expresses confidence that his son will emerge victorious in the election.
He encourages his son, expressing confidence that he will serve as a Member of Parliament for the constituency come December 7, 2024.
Charles Asiedu, who is the immediate past Organiser in Brong Ahafo Region for the NDC, led the party in the primaries with a total of 698 votes.
His closest contender, Nana Agyeman Prempeh, retained 281 votes, while David and Osman, the other two contenders, polled 189 and 109 votes respectively.
The video has been met with mixed reactions, with some praising Chairman Nketiah for supporting his son, while others have criticized his use of religion and politics.
